The wifi smart power plug arrived neatly packaged with very clear usage instructions.
The plug is operated via your smartphone, either android or iOS, using a straightforward app. If you have scanning facilities on your phone you can simply scan the appropriate barcode to download to app, if not the instructions tell you what app to search for in the App Store.Once the app is downloaded you register your personal details then sign in with your wifi. Once this is done you put the plug in a socket and plug in the device you wish to control. The device can then be switched on from anywhere using your smartphone.
The obvious use is as a security feature to switch lamps on or off when you are away from home, but there are, of course, many more reasons why you might want to switch a device on or off when you are away from home.
The app does not limit you to having one smart plug in your home, it can control up to 20 plugs which you can name individually on the app to identify different devices.
In addition to just switching on or off you can set timers to automatically operate the plugs, so you could set the heating to warm the house before you come home from work or put a light on so you don't come home to a dark house.
I am not particularly technically minded but this smart plug really is very easy to use.
